Laurie, I was so sorry to hear that your Mom passed away. She and my mom used to have coffee together a lot. they are in a better place, maybe even having coffee.
A reunion in 2008 sounds great, Unfortunately, I missed the last one, but really would love to go to the next one.
Have a great summer all you brats.

Laurie, If you want to organize a supper somewhere, give me the details and I'll pass them on to the "West Coast Brats" and have them contact you via email. Does that work for you?

So sorry to hear about your Mom, Laurie. It's tough losing a parent. Take care.

Just letting you all know, my mother, Denise Marsden, passed away yesterday at age 78, July 01, 2007, may she rest in peace. Some of your folks may remember her. The family is doing fine. My Mom suffered with Alzheimers and Osteoporosis so she is free of pain now. Dad (Monte Marsden 81) has helped with many eulogies with the Veterans and says he is really busy answering phone calls and emails. He belonged to 28 COD, went to WWII, retired 25 years. Mom used to be Shilo's hairdresser until moving in 1967. The military life sure made strong people, ay? Bye for now, thanks.

This last half year has been a complete blurr. I don't know if I posted an announcement (couldn't find it going back through the pages) but our eldest girl, Johanna Marlene married her long-time friend from her high school days Lt. Brendan Clancy on Dec. 22 shortly after his return from Afganistan. They pretty much started dating at their prom (sound familiar!?) They have been living in Saskatoon while finishing school (Jodi just graduated from Food Science after completing 99% of her medical bio-chem studies two years earlier) and is now lead on a linlolic and linoleic acid synthesis research team at the UofS. Our new son (in law) received a promotion to Captain as a late 24th birthday present and is spending the next year as Adjutant of the North Sask Regiment while he switches his major to History (at the request of the Regiment).

Comment made to a proud Pappa by a Regimental Commander at the reception: "She will make a fine CO's wife some day". I have to thank every one of you and your families for passing along a certain pride and respect for our military service which has endured through some years when it was not always popular with the general public. It continues to be part of our life and those of our children to this very day. I know, strange thing for uber-pacifists!

And, we will be at a '60s reunion if there is any going on next summer.

I am posting from Toronto on Canada day, where I took a day off on the way back from the Middle East to try to find Kemp Archibald. But, it seems last time we spoke, he was leaving the NFB to go back to CBC at the request of his long-time friend David Suzuki. No sign of him or Garth, so if anyone happens to notice his credit on the Nature of Things (again)...we will know where he is for sure.
