Calvin Awalt, his wife Dorothy, children Donald (Moi), Mary, Steven, Robert, Joanne, Megan, and Eugene lived at # 7 Ubique Road from August 1960 to July 1964 after which we moved to #37 Kingston until June 1965 when posted to Debert, N.S. ... during which time, the Findlays (Dave, Bob, Toney, Time, Francis, etc.) lived at # 6 Ubique and the Martins (Jackie, Jimmy, Raymond, etc.) lived at # 26 Ubique ...
A Murphy family did live at #7 Ubique before us and if I recall correctly, Mr. Murphy was a friend of my father's and visited him on occasion at Debert ...

Comments: Hi Mike Our family (The Murphy Family) lived on Ubique at #7. Just in from Royal. ....The Purcell name sounds very familiar. We were there from early ‘50’s thru until around late 1960. ...I remember the Whitings across from us. The Findlay’s amd the Martins. The Evoy family were more towards the main gate and next street towards the gate from us. The Turners. ..We knew and played with kids from all over Camp. Hockey team and Ball teams. Lots of ice skating on rinks in between the PMQ rows. Playing very exciting games of ‘marbles’ at recess and noon breaks at schools. The girls allways skipped the Double Dutch rope to many ditty’s and verse. We went to the school there for The Boys Cub nights. All them sort of things. Lots of good times at the Sports Palace. ...We were Mum and Dad and eight kids ( six boys and two girls). My brother Ernie was the oldest. Sadly he died at sea at a young age in a ship wreck off West Coast of Vancouver Island. ....I remember the Purcell name but cannot remember all the names in detail from those days. The mind tends to forget a few things as we age. Time and distance shall we say. ....I left NS in ‘66 for RCAF. Posted to BC. I retired there. ...In BC I only need to shovel pretty flowers off the sidewalk in winter time. I grew up mostly in Shilo but even then I was not a fan of snow or cold. ..Later.
Comments: I am looking for information from fellow Shilo Brats on a genealogy situation. We lived in Shilo 1952-1957 and am a member of this site for a few years. We lived at 105 Royal Ave. Thankyou Mike
Comments: What ever happened to Lynette Newcross? Grade 7, 1953. There was a boy with the Nick name of Frog, I was nicknamed Horsie. Cora Fisher had the nickname of Fish face. Kids were not kind. I believe we were in Miss Sheehans class. Looking at all the picks and info. Great to look back. I have been to Shilo once since leaving August 1957.
Comments: Doug Jordan count me in for Winnipeg 2020 reunion. Let us know when you need the down payment and how much. Good Luck - George
